IndustryRepublic of Bashkortostan is one of the largest industrial centers of Russian Federation and its industry represents a large multi-branch complex with high level of industrial production concentration. Bashkortostan stands in the Top 10 of Russian regions in volumes of production, issued by its enterprises. Development of Bashkir industry proves the correctness of the way, having chosen by the Republic at the beginning of 90s last century. Bashkortostan has managed to preserve its production potential in the most complicated periods of Russian reforms and stable growth of economics is going on for already eight years. Electrical power engineering, fuel industry, chemistry and petroleum chemistry, machine-building and metalworking are the leading branches of industry in the region and agriculture is rapidly developing too. For the last one decade and a half the gross regional product and industrial production have grown up one and a half times and the volume of investments into fixed capital has grown up by 80%. In 2006 the index of industrial production in the region made 106%: the statistical analysis has been done on all branches of industry. Statistics witnesses rather high rates of social-economic development of Bashkortostan and positive results are observed practically in all branches of economics. The Republic possesses highly developed fuel-energy complex, which consists of several biggest power engineering enterprises in Russia, chemical and oil-chemical mining and processing enterprises and enterprises of oil-gas transportation. JSC „BASHNEFT“ provides the lion’s share of oil-gas mining. Bashkortostan has managed to preserve its oil-processing complex during difficult years of the reforming period and now this complex is considered one of the most powerful in Europe in production of oil raw materials and Bashkortostan holds leading positions in the country in production of light oil products. Its plants are capable to process about 60 millions tons of oil per year and at that the depth of oil processing reaches 80%. Bashkortostan produces various sorts of benzene, kerosene, diesel fuel, mineral oils and black oil. This production meets world standards in quality and ecological standards. Bashkir oil workers introduce modern methods for recoverable oil increase and develop oil deposits all over Russia, including the Western Siberia. About ten thousands kilometers of oil-gas mains and pipelines cross the territory of Bashkortostan and the fifth part of Russian gas, dozens millions tons of oil and oil products are pumped through these mains every year. The questions of safety and effectiveness for oil pipelines are of paramount importance. Bashkortostan is a large center of chemical and petroleum-chemical industry and the names of such Bashkir giants as „SALAVATNEFTEORGSINTEZ“, „Caoutchouc“, „Caustic“ and „Soda“ are well-known far beyond its borders. These giants lead in production of such sorts of chemical and oil-chemical production as synthetic resins, soda ash, butyl and isobutyl alcohols etc. Successful putting of terephthalic acid production line at JSC „POLYEF“ into exploitation has become a long-expected event and great achievement in development of chemical and oil-chemical industry not just for Bashkortostan but for the whole country. This step to a great extent sets Russian producers free from deliveries of raw materials from abroad and in perspective it allows restoring Russian light and textile industry. Bashkortostan possesses all conditions for development of ferrous metallurgy. Its enterprises produce rolled ferrous metal, hardware, steel ropes and steel wire. Beloretsk metallurgical plant is the largest enterprise of this branch. It holds the first place in the country in production of steel wire. Non-ferrous metallurgy is presented by the enterprises for production and concentration of copper ores and gold. Bashkir machine-building complex is developing at high rates – about 200 enterprises work in this area. For the last seven years the index of industrial production in this sphere has grown up more than three times. Thus, in 2006 machine-builders of Bashkortostan have mastered production of more than 250 sorts of new wares. Bashkir industrial and scientific enterprises of defense complex possess powerful production base, the unique equipment and technologies. New productions of aviation engines, helicopters and buses are well-developed. Thus, multi-purpose helicopters, produced by „Kumertau Aviation production enterprise“ in many variants (for passenger transportation, for agriculture, freight transportation and emergency) are very popular not only in Russia but in Hungary, Bulgaria, Germany and Japan. New modifications of these helicopters find stable demand in Canada, the USA and India. Enterprises of forest, woodworking and pulp-and-paper industry also work on the territory of Bashkortostan. Production of plywood and fiberboards is growing up and furniture plants are located in Ufa, Meleuz, Salavat and Sterlitamac. The Republic possesses great resources of wood and at present time it stakes on deep woodworking. Thus, modern woodworking production with attraction of foreign investments is being erected in the town of Meleuz. It will produce medium density fiberboards. Our pharmaceutical industry is presented by the Ufa vitamin plant and federal state unitary enterprise „IMMUNOPREPARAT“. Many products of „IMMUNOPREPARAT“ are found in the list of vitally important medicinal means and at that many vaccines were designed by specialists of the plant self-dependently. The plant was the first in Russia, having started production of disposable sterile syringes. Bashkir light industry is presented by various enterprises, working in different spheres: leather-show production, textile etc. Sewing industry is presented by 14 big enterprises, such as „Ishimbay knitted fabric factory“, „Ishimbay hosiery factory, the factory of working cloths and „ISKOJ“. The complex of food industry RB includes big sugar plants, several meat-packing and milk-conserved plants and the enterprises, producing bakeries, cereals, noodles, beer, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, mineral waters etc. 80% of foods in Bashkortostan are of local origin. It is worth mentioning that Bashkortostan is considered one of the most agriculturally developed regions of Russian Federation. Its agricultural lands exceed 7,2 millions hectares and more than 4,3 millions hectares are allocated for tillage, mainly the lands of big agricultural farmings. Republican food industry allows supplying population of Bashkortostan with all necessary foods and production of food enterprises RB is widely known far beyond its frontiers as well as its „visit card“ – the famous and unique medicinal Bashkir honey. |
