Judicial authority

In accordance with the Constitution of Bashkortostan Republic, the Constitutional Court of Bashkortostan Republic, federal courts and justices courts, carry out the judicial authority in the republic. Constitutional Court RB and justices courts belong to the courts of directly Bashkortostan Republic.

The Constitutions of RF and RB, federal laws and laws of Bashkortostan Republic, determine plenary powers, order of formation and activity of courts of Bashkortostan.

Activity of the Constitutional Court RB  (KS) is directed on defense in the republic of constitutional system, basic rights and freedoms of man and citizen.

KS RB considers cases on accordance of laws RB, normative legal acts of State Assembly, the President and the Government of Bashkortostan Republic, local republican authorities, and also organs of local self-government to the Constitution RB.

Acts or their separate propositions, sustained by the Constitutional Court RB as unconstitutional, lose validity. KS RB gives interpretation of the Constitution RB, examines other constitutionally legal questions, related to its jurisdiction by the federal law and by law of Bashkortostan Republic. The decisions of the Constitutional Court RB, enacted within the limits of its plenary powers, can not be revised by another court.

The judges of courts of Bashkortostan can be citizens of Russian Federation, aged 25 years, having higher legal education and experience of work not less than five years in jurisprudence. Financing of courts of RB must provide possibility of complete and independent realization of justice.

215 judicial areas are created in Republic Bashkortostan, on each of which there is one position of Justice of the Peace. Bashkortostan became the first subject of Russian Federation implemented on its territory the institute of Justices of the Peace.
